The Anti-Drug Club & National Service Scheme of Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, in association with the Department of Police, Namakkal District and District Administration, Namakkal jointly conducted the Anti-Drug Awareness Rally and Programme on “We don’t need drugs for a happy life” (மகிழ்வான வாழ்க்கைக்கு போதைப்பொருட்கள் வேண்டாமே) on 26th June 2025 in the College campus

Observation of the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking

The Anti-Drug Club & National Service Scheme of Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, in association with the Department of Police, Namakkal District and District Administration, Namakkal jointly conducted the Anti-Drug Awareness Rally and Programme on “We don’t need drugs for a happy life” (மகிழ்வான வாழ்க்கைக்கு போதைப்பொருட்கள் வேண்டாமே) on 26th June 2025 in the College campus.      

On account of the observation of World Drug Day,  this programme was held.    The Anti-Drug Awareness Rally was headed by the superintendent of Police, Namakkal District, Mr. S. Rajesh Kannan, IPS., in the presence of Thiru. R. Dhanrasu,  Additional Superintendent of Police,   (PEW – Prohibition Enforcement Wing) – Namakkal District, Thiru K. Sankarapandian, Inspector of Police, (PEW-Prohibition Enforcement Wing),  Namakkal Unit,  Namakkal, Mr. S. Kabilan, Inspector, Namakkal Town Police Station, Dr. N.P. Lalitha, District Tobacco Consultant, Health Department, Namakkal District & Mr. C. R. Rajesh Kannan,  District Liaison Officer, Anti-Drug & Road Safety Clubs, Namakkal Collectorate, Namakkal District, Er. K. Nallusamy, Chairman of the College, Dr. M.R. Lakshiminarayanan, Principal and the faculty members of the College.   

Students of Trinity College for Women actively participated in that rally.  The rally began at 10 AM where the students walked from Kondichettipatti to our college by holding posters and banners, spreading awareness by utilising slogans and educating the public about the harmful and dangerous effects of the usage of drugs.  

 The Superintendent of Police advised the students about the harmful effects and outcome of the use of drugs and how there has been a raised use of drugs amongst college students.  The rally came to an end at 11 AM.

All the participants took the Anti-Drug Pledge. 

          The Police Officials of Namakkal District, The Vice-Principal, Dr. R. Navamani, The Programme Officers of NSS, Dr. M. Sasikala and Mrs. V. Gokila, the coordinator of the Anti-Drug Club, Dr. S. Jeyanthi,  Mrs. L. Deepika, Coordinator, Road Safety Club, Mrs. V. Archana, Physical Directress, The Administrative Officer Mr. N.S.Senthilkumar, faculty members, non-teaching staff and the students of the College attended.
