Workshop on preparation of bakery and confectionary products
The Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, in association with the Nutri Bakes Club, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, conducted a one-day workshop entitled “Techniques used in the preparation of Bakery and Confectionery Products” on 30th September 2025 in the Nut. & Diet. Laboratory.
Mr. D. Rajkumar, Pastry Chef, Mettupalayam, Musiri Taluk, Trichy District and Mr. D. Kalaiyarasan, Pastry Chef, SRM Bakery, Perundurai, Erode District were the special invitees.
They explained the role of bakery ingredients, quality parameters of raw materials, equipment used for production, packaging techniques, testing of finished products, etc. Also, they demonstrated the production of bakery products such as cakes, icing techniques, puffs and breads and its evaluation.
Mrs. R. Rupa, Assistant Professor and Head, the faculty members of Nutrition and Dietetics, Ms. P. Sri Renugadevi, Mrs. S. Bharathi and Ms. A. Nandhini, along with the students of this department took part.
