Observation of World Mental Health Day
Under the auspices of the Youth Red Cross and Red Ribbon Club, Trinity College for Women, observed “World Mental Health Day” on 10th October 2025 (Friday) at 2 PM on our College campus.
On this subject, Dr. G. Prasanthini, MD (Psy), Satellite Psychiatrist, District Mental Health Programme (DMHP) Team, & Mr. M. Murugavel, MSW (M & P), Psychiatric Social Work, Joint Director of Health Department, Namakkal District Government Medical College Hospital, Tiruchengode Road, Namakkal were the special invitees.
Social Media (Instagram, WhatsApp, Facebook, ShareChat, etc.) are the main obstacles to the progress of younger generations, especially the student community. Many of the students frequently utilize social media and their precious time is wasted. Due to the continuous usage of social websites, they could not concentrate on their studies as well as focus on the bright future, they said. Apart from that, in this session, they provided mental health care and emotional balance strategies, putting stress on the significance of flexibility and resilience in handling challenges.
Dr. M.R. Lakshiminarayanan, Principal, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal delivered the welcome address. Mrs. V. Kalaivani, Assistant Professor in Physics & Programme Officer, Youth Red Cross & Dr. S. Kalaivani, Assistant Professor of Chemistry & Programme Officer, Red Ribbon Club, made arrangements.
More or less 100 volunteers from the Youth Red Cross and Red Ribbon Club of the College took part.
