Celebration of International Yoga Day

The Yoga and Meditation Club of Trinity College for Women (Arts and Science), Namakkal, and M/s. Temple of Consciousness, Namakkal, jointly celebrated “International Yoga Day” on June 19, 2026, in the premises of Trinity Auditorium. The main theme of the program was “Yoga for Healthy Ageing”. The topic of the event was “Significance of Yoga and Meditation in a Student’s Life”.
Er. K. Nallusamy, Chairman of the College, presided over the program. Dr. M. R. Lakshiminarayanan, Principal, welcomed the gathering.

Dr. M. A. Udhayakumar, Former District Educational Officer, Namakkal & Salem, Former Senate Member & Academic Council Member, Annamalai University, Annamalai Nagar, Chidambaram, and Administrative Trustee, The Art of Mindfulness Trust, Namakkal, delivered the inaugural address.     Practicing yoga is very helpful to us. It gives us physical, mental, and spiritual benefits, he said.

Mr. K. Subramanian, Secretary, The Art of Mindfulness Trust, Namakkal & Faculty of the Temple of Consciousness, Namakkal, highlighted the importance of yoga in our day-to-day life.

The faculty members of the Temple of Consciousness, Namakkal, Mr. C. Nagarajan, Mr. V. Subramani, and Mrs. Kanagam Subramani also spoke on that occasion.    Er. S. Selvaraj, Secretary, offered the felicitation address. All the students, faculty members, and non-teaching staff participated in yoga asanas, breathing exercises, and meditation at the Trinity Auditorium.

Ms. A. Shalini, a Final Year B.Sc. Computer Science student of the College, proposed the vote of thanks. Mrs. V. Archana, Physical Directress, and Mr. N.S. Senthilkumar, Administrative Officer of the College made the arrangements.
