Women Entrepreneurship Enhancement Program

The Entrepreneurship Development Cell, Internal Quality Assurance Cell, Institution’s Innovation Council, and Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Cell (C9496), in support of the Department of Costume Design and Fashion, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, organized a women entrepreneurship enhancement program titled “Empowering rural women in the textile business – for the benefit of agrarian women in and around Vagurampatti (UBA Networking village), Namakkal, on 20th July 2026, in the College premises.  Mrs. Aruna Selvaraj, Executive Director, presided over the program.  Dr. M.R. Lakshiminarayanan welcomed the gathering.

Many farmers are engaged in agriculture in Vagurampatti and its surrounding areas. This includes women farmers as well. This event was organized with the purpose of empowering these women farmers to become women entrepreneurs in the textile sector.  Many wholesale textile business people came from Thuraiyur, Udumalpet, Chinnalapatti, Karur, Elampillai, Thathiengarpettai, Rasipuram, Namakkal, Paramathi-Velur, Kabilarmalai, and Jedarpalayam took part. They advised them on how to create a retail textile entrepreneurship (both online and offline) apart from agriculture.

Many women farmers inside and outside of Vagurampatti village, like Veppanam, Vasanthapuram, Nagarajapuram, Periyapatti, Singilipatti, Kondichettipatti, Ladduvadi, Parali, Aniyapuram, Ramudaiyanur, and L. Kanavaipatti, benefited through that program.

Apart from that, Dr. R. Navamani, Vice-Principal; Dr. B. Lena, HOD of Mathematics; Dr. M. Sasikala, HOD of Commerce; Dr. N. Elamathi, IQAC Coordinator; the Coordinator of IIC, Dr. A. Vijayasarathi, the Coordinator of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Cell; Mrs. S. Hemalatha, the Coordinator of EDC; Dr. S. Sandhiya,  the UBA Networking villages representatives, Dr. S. Revathy (Vagurampatti), Mrs. S. Priya (Aniyapuram), Dr. A. Latha (Parali), Mrs. D. Prabha (Tholur),  The Physical Director of the College, Mrs. V. Archana, the HOD of Costume Design and Fashion; Mrs. A. P. Pavithra, the faculty member of CDF; Ms. S. Vaishnavi; The Administrative Officer, Mr. N. S. Senthilkumar, and the faculty members, non-teaching staff members, and students of the College also participated.
