Industrial Visit
The Departments of Physics and Chemistry, in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council and Internal Quality Assurance Cell, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, arranged an industrial visit at M/s. Thenpandian Solar Plant, Iluppuli village, Elachipalayam, Tiruchengode Taluk, Namakkal District, on July 24, 2026. This industrial visit aimed to provide students with practical exposure to the workings of a solar power plant and its components. All the student participants understood the concept of solar energy, the workings of a photovoltaic cell, the workings of a solar panel, the conversion of Direct Current to Alternating Current by using an inverter unit, the step-up of voltage by a transformer unit, and the distribution of energy by grid connection. All the students of Physics and Chemistry (both undergraduate and postgraduate students) took part.
Mr. P. Vijayakumar, Maintenance Incharge, M/s. Thenpandian Solar Plant, Madayankattupudur, Iluppuli, explained the details of solar energy production.
The faculty members of Physics, Dr. R. Sakunthaladevi, Mrs. V. Kalaivani, Dr. S. Sandhiya, and Mrs. P. Gowthami, and the faculty members of Chemistry, Dr. S. Anidha, Dr. S. Kalaivani, Ms. M. Rineesha, Ms. K. L. Priyadharshini, and Mrs. G. Mahesh, also participated in that industrial visit.
