Observation of National Librarian’s Day
Owing to the celebration of National Librarian’s Day (Birth Anniversary of Dr. S.R. Ranganathan), the Department of Library Science, in association with the Institutional Innovation Council and the Internal Quality Assurance Cell, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, organized a program titled “A good book is a true asset” on August 12, 2026, on the college premises.

Dr. M. Selvi, Librarian, and Mrs. P. Sathiya, Assistant Librarian, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, were the resource persons. Books play an important role in every individual’s life and their future development. Good books are considered the best friends. Reading books provides students with several merits, such as better writing skills, improved focus and memory, building confidence, enhancing vocabulary, and so on, they said. They also highlighted how the field of library science is evolving in the era of rapid technological advancement. They stressed the influence of emerging tools such as Artificial Intelligence, Claude AI, Google Gemini, and ChatGPT.

The faculty members of Commerce, Dr. S. Devi, Dr. G. Sathiya Sangari, Dr. M. Umamageswari, Dr. D. Indumathi, along with the students of the College took part.
