Inauguration of Tamil Literary Association
Under the auspices of the Department of Tamil, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal inaugurated the Tamil Literary Association (தமிழ் மன்ற துவக்க விழா) on 08th September 2025 (Wednesday) @ 11 AM at the college campus. Dr. M.R. Lakshiminarayanan, Principal of the College welcomed the gathering.
In this regard, Dr. K. Chandrasekaran, Associate Professor in Tamil, Arignar Anna Government Arts College, Namakkal, delivered the special lecture programme titled “The Classical Tamil Language”. (செம்மொழியாம் தமிழ் மொழி). At the global level, Greek, Latin, Arabic, Sanskrit, Hebrew, Chinese, Tamil and Persian are called classical languages. We can understand the growth of Tamil through the evidence of inscriptions, archaeology and manuscripts. Both Tamil and Sanskrit are considered two of the oldest languages in India. Apart from Tamil, you learn other languages in line with the times, he said. Apart from that, he pointed out the specialties of the Tamil language.
The faculty members of Tamil, Dr. T. K. Anuradha, Dr. R. Savithri, Mrs. S. Jayamathi, Dr. A. Latha, Dr. B. Vishnupriya, Dr. C. Gobiya, Dr. R.A. Anitha, Mrs. S. Hemalatha, Mrs. K. Barathi, Dr. T. Geetha, Mrs. K. Padmavathi and Dr. N. Subalakshmi along with the students of the College took part.
