The Trinity College Alumni Association, in support of the Department of English, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, organized an “Alumni Meet” on 31.08.2026.   Ms. S. Gokilavani, Alumna (B.A., English, and M.A., English – 2014-2019) of Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, and Former Faculty of English, Park Public School, Periyapatti, Namakkal, delivered the topic entitled “Significance of English Language in Today’s World.” (இன்றைய உலகில் ஆங்கில மொழியின் முக்கியத்துவம்).

English is a universal language as well as a business language.   A greater number of people are speaking the English language at a global level.    Today, most of our communication is done through the internet, emails, social media, video calls, and so on.  Due to this, Proficiency of English is needed for perfect communication.  In addition, employers in the current job market are always seeking candidates who can communicate well in English, she said.   All the faculty members of English along with the students of English took part.
