Celebration of Mupperum Vizha
Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, enthusiastically celebrated “Mupperum Vizha” (26th Annual Day, Sports Day and International Women’s Day) on 6th March 2026 in the Trinity Auditorium.
Mr. K. Nallusamy, Chairman of the College, presided over the programme. Dr. M.R. Lakshiminarayanan, Principal, welcomed the gathering. Mrs V. Archana, Director of Physical Education, delivered the sports report.
Dr R. Kulandaivel, President, Trinity Academy Matric Higher Secondary School, Namakkal, highlighted the importance of higher education for women. Mr S. Selvaraj, Secretary, and Mrs Aruna Selvaraj, Executive Director of the College, offered the address of felicitation.
Mrs P.M. Sheela, Chief Employment Officer, Namakkal District, was the chief guest. Your education should be beneficial to our society. You have two options for choosing your future career. The first option is to prepare for both central and state government examinations. The second and final choice is to become an entrepreneur. Every District Industries Centre in Tamil Nadu state, provides financial assistance of one crore for entrepreneurship-related endeavours. If we repay the loan on time, they provide a 30 percent subsidy, she said.
CA K. N. Rahavi, Chartered Accountant & Chief Finance Officer, Thenpandian Group of Companies, & Life Coach, Namakkal, a special invitee, in her address, self-empowerment depends upon self-earnings. Self-support empowers and authorises women to lead self-sufficient and fulfilling lives, making them capable of handling challenges with confidence, pliancy and grace. Education is permanent. “Believe in yourself; success will come”, she stated.
In this ceremony, Periyar University rank holders (2024–2025) of the college, faculty members who have completed their PhD during the academic year 2025–2026, faculty members who produced 100 per cent results in the Periyar University Examinations, faculty members who achieved 100 per cent attendance, and overall sports achievers were honoured by the special invitees.
Mr P. Dhayalan, Transport Director; the former presidents of Inner Wheel Club, Namakkal, Mrs Santhi Nallusamy and Mrs Sellam Palanisamy; Mr N. S. Senthilkumar, Administrative Officer, the Heads of Department of the College (Dr R. Navamani, Dr M. Sasikala, T. K. Anuradha, Dr R. Savithri, Dr B. Lena, Dr B. Lakshmi, Dr N. Elamathi, Mrs V. Indirakumari, Mrs G. Kannagi, Mrs. A. P. Pavithra and Mrs R. Rupa), faculty members, non-teaching staff members, along with all the students of the College, participated.
Students’ cultural events were held and these were appreciated by all the audience.
Ms. T. Prathiksha, a final-year B.Sc Physics student and the Student’s Chairman, proposed the vote of thanks.
