Celebration of Teachers” Da
Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, celebrated “Teachers Day” on 03rd September 2026, with great enthusiasm and respect, honouring the remarkable contributions of the faculty of the College.
Due to the remembrance (birth anniversary) of the former President of India, Great Teacher, and Philosopher, Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, every year we celebrate Teachers Day in India, Er. K. Nallusamy, Chairman of the College and a former Faculty Member of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore, said in his presidential address. Also, he pointed out that teachers are the backbone of our society. From our elementary school to college life, teachers’ roles are very important. Without teachers’ contributions, we could not grow in our future. Teacher who identifies the talents of students and encourages them can be considered an excellent teacher, he added.
Er. S. Selvaraj, Secretary, and Mrs. Aruna Selvaraj, Executive Director, offered the felicitation address. Dr. M.R. Lakshiminarayanan, Principal, welcomed the gathering. Mr. T. Kalaiselvan, Executive Engineer (Retd.), Department of Agriculture, Thoothukudi, highlighted the role of teachers in the development of our entire society.
The senior faculty members of the College, Mrs. V. Gokila (Mathematics), Mrs. S. Priya (Computer Science), and Dr. G. Sathiya Sangari (Commerce) are recognized for their significant service to the College.
The faculty members who achieved per cent results were honored by the Chairman, Secretary, and Executive Director.
As part of the Teachers’ Day Celebration, a debate on “The Impact of Social Media on Students’ Development: A Boon or a Bane?” (சமூக ஊடகங்கள் இளைஞர்களின் முன்னேற்றத்திற்கு வரமா? சாபமா?) was held. It was inaugurated by Mr. K. Nallusamy, Chairman of the College, in the presence of Mr. S. Selvaraj, Secretary; Mrs. Aruna Selvaraj, Executive Director; and Dr. M.R. Lakshiminarayanan, Principal.
The students of the College, Ms. R. Sri Raksha (First-year B.Sc., Computer Science), Ms. R.R. Inika (First-year B.A., Tamil), and Ms. A. Shalini (Final-year B.Sc., Computer Science) spoke on the title “The impact of Social Media on Students’ Development: Boon or Bane”.
Ms. P. Kavyasri (First-year B.Sc., Mathematics), Ms. N. Deepalakshmi (Second-year B.A., Tamil), and Ms. C. Haritha (Final-year B.Com) were the debate speakers on the topic “Bane of Social Media.
Dr. T.K. Anuradha, Assistant Professor and Head, Department of Postgraduate and Research – Tamil, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, was the debate judge.
Finally, the judge delivered a judgment: “We cannot stop the growth of science, technology, and innovation. All actions have advantages and disadvantages. However, the judge ruled that social media should only be used for creative purposes, not for entertainment purposes.
The Vice-Principal, Dr. R. Navamani, the Administrative Officer, Mr. N.S. Senthilkumar, the various department heads, faculty members, and students participated in the Teachers’ Day celebrations. Ms. R. Dhanushiya, a second year B.Sc., Chemistry student and Joint Secretary of Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, proposed the vote of thanks.
