Celebrations of National Science Day
The Departments of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, in support of the Institution’s Innovation Council, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, celebrated “National Science Day” on February 27, 2026, on the college premises. Er. G.M. Srinivasan, Petro Chemical Technologist & Managing Director, M/s. Galileovasan Offshore & Research and Development Private Ltd., South Palpannaicherry, Nagapattinam, delivered a talk entitled “Women in Science – Catalysing Viksit Bharat.
All scientific new inventions should be beneficial to society’s welfare only. In 2047, India will celebrate its 100th Independence Day. We will have achieved our goal of a Vikshit Bharat (Developed India). Today, many women are conducting business activities in various disciplines. They are making progress in departments such as science, technology, engineering, medicine, agriculture, information technology, nanotechnology, entrepreneurial activities, etc., The current presence of women in many fields will be a key to the goal of Vikshit Bharat. There are plenty of opportunities available for women, and they should utilize them, he said.
Dr. R. Navamani, Vice-Principal, Dr. B. Lena, HOD of Mathematics, Dr. B. Lakshmi, HOD of Physics, and Mrs. V. Indirakumari, HOD of Chemistry, made arrangements for the event. The Mathematics faculty, Dr. S. Jeyanthi, Mrs. V. Gokila, Mrs. S. Madhukaraveni, Dr. S. Revathi, and Mrs. M. Nandhini, the Physics faculty, Mrs. B. Kavitha, Dr. R. Sakunthaladevi, Mrs. V. Kalaivani, Dr. S. Sandhiya, and Mrs. P. Gowthami, the Chemistry faculty, Dr. S. Anidha, Dr. S. Kalaivani, Ms. M. Rineesha, Ms. K.L. Priyadharshini, and Mrs. G. Mahesh, along with the students of Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry, took part. Finally, the chief guest, Mr. G.M. Srinivasan, gave away prizes and certificates to the achievers who participated in the various competitions of the National Science Day Celebrations.
