Programme on Digital India
The Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, in support of Trinity College Alumni Association, Internal Quality Assurance Cell and Institutions’ Innovation Council, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal conducted a programme entitled “Digital connectivity in rural India” on 12th August 2025 in the College campus.
Mrs. C. Kiruthika, Alumnus (2022-2025 – B.Sc., Nutrition and Dietetics, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal) & Incharge of Initiative of E-Governance in Rural Areas, Kodiyur, Akkamanahalli Post, Kuppur, Pappireddipatti Assembly Constituency, Dharmapuri District was the special invitee.
Nearly 70 percent of Indians live in rural India. But, digital India is not fully covered in all the places properly. Now, for the past few years, technology has been rapidly developed in villages. Sensor drones and GPS systems are very helpful to farmers. Electronic Services like E-Governance, high speed internet services, digital literacy programme, etc., are needed by the people of villages, she said. The faculty members of Nutrition and Dietetics, Mrs. R. Rupa, Ms. P. Sri Renugadevi, Mrs. S. Bharathi and Ms. A. Nandhini made arrangements.
