Drug-Free Tamil Nadu – Periodical Meeting

The District Administration, Namakkal, organized “Drug-Free Tamil Nadu – Periodical Meeting” on August 20, 2026, on the campus of the Collector’s Office, Namakkal.

 Mr. L. Madhubalan, IAS, District Collector, Namakkal, inaugurated the meeting. Our main aim is for our Namakkal District to be a Drug-Free District. The Principals working in higher educational institutions in and around Namakkal should frequently explain to students the demerits of drugs. If anyone is found selling drug goods near their educational institutions, they should immediately inform the Police. Keep an eye on every student of your college, he said.   At present, we are united against drugs; we should also give importance to road safety, he added.

Mr. Yadav Krish Ashok, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Namakkal District, in his address, stated, the heads of the institutions should also monitor whether drugs are in circulation not only in Namakkal District, but also in neighboring districts like Erode, Karur, and so on. Do not try to save anyone from drugs. The names of the informants will be kept confidential, he noted.

The officials of the District Administration, along with the Principals of various higher educational institutions in and around Namakkal, participated.
