Handloom Sarees Exhibition and Sale

The Department of Handlooms & Textiles, Government of Tamil Nadu, promotes handloom weavers for a better life. In this regard, under the auspices of the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Cell, in association with the Trinity Women’s Forum, Trinity College for Women (Arts & Science), Namakkal, organized a one-day program titled “Handloom Saree Exhibition Cum Sale” on June 4th, 2026, on the college premises. Mrs. Aruna Selvaraj, Executive Director of the College, inaugurated the program in the presence of Dr.  M.R. Lakshiminarayanan, Principal, Mrs. R. Rupa, Coordinator of Trinity Women’s Forum, and Mrs. S. Hemalatha, Coordinator of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Cell. Due to the upliftment of the lives of physically handicapped weavers near Chinnalapatti, M/s. Kamala Nehru Handloom Weavers Cooperative Society, Chinnalapatti, Dindigul district, sold these handloom products.            Apart from the faculty members of Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, many women in and around the villages of Vagurampatti, Singilipatti, Veppanam, Ladduvadi, etc., purchased the handloom sarees at the concessional rates.
Mr. S. Andavar and Mr. P. Venkatesan, Salesmen of M/s. Kamala Nehru Weavers Handloom Weavers Cooperative Society, Chinnalapatti, auctioned off these handloom cloths.
