IIC Programme on “Strengthening Research and Innovation”

The All India Council for Technical Education, the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (Government of India), and the Institution’s Innovation Council (Ministry of Education Initiative) jointly organized a virtual event entitled “Strengthening the Research and Innovation Eco-Systems in HEIs: Leveraging MANTHAN and UTTHAN for Institutional Transformation (Office of the Principal Scientific Advisor (PSA) to the Government of India) on September 2nd, 2026.   The session focused on strengthening research and innovation ecosystems in Higher Educational Institutions by leveraging initiatives like MANTHAN and UTTHAN.

The resource person, Dr. Dipan Sahu, Assistant Innovator, Ministry of Education, Innovation Cell, AICTE, highlighted insights into building institutional capabilities, fostering research and innovation, developing strategic partnerships, and creating pathways for translating ideas and research into impactful solutions.   It is noted that MANTHAN is a result of the efforts of the Strategic Alliances Division of the Office of the PSA (Principal Scientific Advisor). It is a digital platform that aims to build and nurture relationships between industry and academia, with a focus on solving challenges faster and better to meet India’s national targets and the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. The platform provides a decentralized and democratized environment for easy collaboration between industry, philanthropic organizations, and entities in the scientific research and development ecosystem.   The students of the college have attended the entire virtual mode session in the ICT classrooms. .    Many students gave positive feedback about the programs of the Institutional Innovation Council. Mrs. K. Mekala, Assistant Professor of Computer Science, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, made the arrangements.
