The Government of Tamil Nadu, has launched the Palm Seed Plantation Mission – 2025, a major green initiative to boost the state’s tree cover and promote the Green Society. In an energetic step toward ecological sustainability and biodiversity enhancement, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal proudly hosted the
“Palm Tree Seeds Planting Drive” in the college campus as well as outside of the campus. This palm tree seeds planting drive witnessed energetic participation from students, faculty and non-teaching staff of the College, who collectively planted more than 1000 of palm seeds in the college campus and nearby water bodies.
Mrs. S. Hemalatha, Assistant Professor in Tamil & Coordinator of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Cell & Mrs. V. Kalaivani, Assistant Professor in Physics & Coordinator of Youth Red Cross, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal obtained the appreciation certificate. These certificate were given by Mr. I. Anwardeen, IFS, Senior Indian Forest Service Officer, Tamil Nadu /Principal Chief Conservator of Forests & Chief Project Director for the Tamil Nadu Bio-Diversity and Green Belt Conservation Project, in association with the Department of Environmental and Climate Change, Department of Forest, Green Tamil Nadu Movement, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department and Tamil Nadu Volunteer Association.
Both the faculty members are greeted on 30.12.2025 in the College campus. Dr. M.R. Lakshiminarayanan, Principal of the College conveyed his best wishes to them.
