Inauguration of the Tamil Literary Association
The opening ceremony of the Tamil Literary Association was held on the premises of Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, on 28th August 2026. Dr. K. Bhoopathy, Assistant Professor of Tamil, Arignar Anna Government Arts College, Namakkal, inaugurated the Tamil Literary Association and delivered a guest lecture program titled “The Personality and Gentleness of Women in Literature” (தமிழ் இலக்கியங்களில் ஆளுமையும், மேன்மையும்).
During the Sangam Period, women were dominant in all high positions. Specifically, they excelled in education, bravery, morality, love, and education. The role of women was very excellent in their family growth, he said.
Also, he highlighted the female achievers Indira Nooyi, Roshni Shiv Nadar, Mallika Srinivasan, Food & Nutrition Specialist Meena, and the first female Driver of the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation, Nagercoil Division, Mrs. Vasanthakumari.
Dr. M.R. Lakshiminarayanan, Principal, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, presided over the program and introduced the special invitee. The Vice-Principal, Dr. R. Navamani, the faculty of Economics, Dr. S. Devi, the faculty members of Tamil, Dr. T. K. Anuradha, Dr. R. Savithri, Mrs. S. Jayamathi, Dr. A. Latha, Dr. B. Vishnupriya, Dr. C. Gobiya, Dr. R. A. Anitha, Mrs. S. Hemalatha, Dr. K. Barathi, Dr. T. Geetha, Mrs. K. Padmavathi, and also students of the college participated in that programme.
