Nutrition and Dietetics students’ participation in the organic food products exhibition
M/s. SS Natural Fibre Unit Maya Greens Organisation, Namakkal, M/s. Rural Vision Self-Reliance Rural Market, Namakkal, M/s. Pasumai-Namakkal, and M/s. Hotel Sanu International, Namakkal jointly conducted a 3-day exhibition and sale of natural products from December 25th, 2023, to December 27th, 2023. It was held on the premises of Hotel Sanu International, Salem Road, Namakkal.
The faculty and the students of Nutrition & Dietetics and Costume Design, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal have actively taken part.
Mr. V. Sathiyamurthy, President, and Mr. M. Thillai Sivakumar, Secretary, Pasumai Namakkal, have invited all the participants of our college.
All the organisers have exhibited natural food products, like varieties of organic farming products. These are multiplicities of traditional rice, small grains of Kolli Hills, Dindigul-Sirumalai Pepper Honey, Ramanathapuram-Palm and Black Berry, Palm Leaves and Hand Craft Products, Banana Fibres, value-added products of banana and coconut, Pollachi-Coco Nectar, Madurai Traditional Oysters, Mushroom, Natural Cosmetics Items, etc., were exhibited in that event.
In addition, natural food products such as black pepper, turmeric powder, sea salt, jaggery powder, palm jiggery, palm candy, hill honey, and urad black dal
Oil products like groundnut oil, sesame oil, coconut oil, castor oil, illuppennai oil, and neem oil.
Snacks Goods such as peanut jaggery, sesame jaggery, mappilai samba murukku, thinai murukku, palm jaggery, & millet murukku.
Native seeds,and namely plant seeds, kodi seeds, green seeds, fruit seeds, rice seeds, & millet seeds,
Rice items such as ponni rice, 60 kuruvai, illupai samba, and kuthira vali, and
Value-added products, in particular, health mix, rasam powder, sambar powder, lemon pickle, mango pickle, herbal hair oil, and toothpaste, were also exhibited in that programme.
41 students, along with the faculty of nutrition and dietetics, Mrs. R. Rupa, Ms. P. Sri Renugadevi, and Mrs. V. Sowmiya, and the faculty of costume design and fashion, Mrs. K. Punitha, Ms. K.P. Theepika, Mrs. A.P. Pavithra, and Mrs. R. Shanmugapriya, participated in that programme.
