Observation of Poshan Maah -2026 (Nutrition Month)
Owing to the celebration of Poshan Maah – 2026 (Nutrition Month), the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, in association with the Integrated Child Development Services, Namakkal Block, Namakkal District, organized a Nutrition Awareness Programme on September 24, 2026, in the College premises. The main aim of the programme was “To discover the power of nutrition”. The theme of the programme was “Awareness on Anaemia, Obesity, and Thyroid Disorders. Ms. P. Portia Ruby, District Programme Officer, Integrated Child Development Services, Namakkal, and Mrs. P. Azhagammal, Child Development Project Officer, Namakkal Block, Namakkal District, were the resource persons.
Mrs. P. Portia Ruby shared her insights on the vital role that nutrition and good health play in living an impactful and purposeful life. Health is the greatest gift. Our minds should be sound, and our bodies should be healthy. We have to consume nutritious fruits, vegetables, and grains in our food, Mrs. P. Azhagammal pointed out.
Those events brought students together to exhibit their culinary skills, creativity, and innovation, highlighting the significance of nutritious and healthy food.
On this subject, various events, like recipe rebels, E-poster, and reel presentations, were conducted. All the students of Nutrition and Dietetics actively took part. Dr. M.R. Lakshiminarayanan, Principal, Dr. R. Navamani, Vice-Principal, Mr. N.S. Senthilkumar, and the faculty members of Nutrition and Dietetics, Mrs. R. Rupa, Ms. P. Sri Renugadevi, Mrs. S. Bharathi, and Ms. A. Nandhini, were also present on that occasion.
Apart from that Mrs. C. Thilagavathi, Grade I Supervisor, Mrs. V. Palaniyammal & Mrs. M. Kalpana, Grade II Supervisors and Mrs. J. Krishnapriya. Block Coordinator, Integrated Child Development Services, Namakkal were also present.
