 Celebration of National Consumer Day

           On account of National Consumer Day (24th December 2022), The Citizen Consumer Club of Trinity College for Women, Namakakl conducted an awareness programme in the title of “Consumer Protection in India – some implications and trends” on 23.12.2022. 

Dr. M. Sasikala, Programme Officer, Citizen Consumer Club welcomed the gathering.  

Mrs. Aruna Selvaraj, Executive Director presided over the programme.  

Dr. M.R. Lakshiminarayanan, Principal highlighted the significance of consumer protection in goods and services.   

Dr. Arasuparameswaran, Director – Academic indicated the needs of consumer education.  

 Mr. C.R. Rajesh Kannan, District Coordinator, Citizen Consumer Club, District Collector Office, Namakkal and Mr. K.S. Senthilkumar, Advocate & Namakkal District Secretary, Federation of Consumer Organization, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry (FEDCOT) were the resource persons.

Mr. C.R.Rajeshkumar, in his address highlighted the complications and problems of lack of awareness of consumers in regard to rights and hesitant initiatives to press upon the consumer rights.

Mr. K.S. Senthilkumar, he focused on the various topics of consumer issues, duties, rights, responsibilities, remedies, rights to information act, unfair trade practices and consumer courts.

The faculty members of Commerce Mrs. G. Nithya, Dr. S. Devi, Mrs. M. Rajapadmavathi, Dr. R. Suba, Mrs. M. Ramya, Mrs. K. Amutha and Mr. N.S. Senthilkumar, Administrative Officer were also present.  Nearly 300 students took part.
