            On behalf of Standards Club (an initiative by the Bureau of Indian Standards), Trinity College for Women, Namakkal conducted a seminar cum quiz competition titled “Standard Practices in Vacuum Flask” on 07.07.2025 on the college campus. 

            Dr. R. Sakunthaladevi,  Mentor of BIS Standards Club, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, highlighted the role of students in maintaining the quality of products and services.  

            Dr. R. Kannan, District Resource Person, Bureau of Indian Standards, Nallipalayam, Namakkal District, was the resource person.  

            He explained the BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) learning science, through standards. It includes components of vacuum flasks, manufacturing vacuum flasks, scientific laws for optimal design and performance, key performance characteristics of vacuum flasks complying with standards, the significance of circular economy and reduction of carbon footprint, interesting facts about vacuum flasks, etc. 

.           Apart from that, he clarified the importance of the BIS standards club in higher educational institutions for improving the quality of products and services. 

            The Vice-Principal, Dr. R. Navamani, the faculty members of Physics, Dr. B. Lakshmi,  Mrs. B. Kavitha, Mrs. V. Kalaivani, Mrs. S. Sandhiya, Mrs. P. Gowthami and the faculty members of Chemistry, Mrs. V. Indirakumari, Dr. S. Anidha, Dr. S. Kalaivani, Ms. M. Rineesha, Ms. K.L. Priyadharshini and Mrs.G. Mahesh also took part.
