Road Safety Awareness Meeting
On behalf of the Regional Transport Officer, Namakkal South (TN – 88), the Road Safety Awareness Programme was held on 06th February 2026 in the premises of the Namakkal South Regional Transport Office, Namakkal. It was held for the sake of the Coordinators and the members of the Road Safety Club for all educational institutions in and around Namakkal District.
Mr. D. Damodharan, Deputy Transport Commissioner, Erode was the special invitee. He highlighted the importance of safe driving practices, following up the traffic rules, the need for passenger safety and the need to reduce road accidents. He also urged the coordinators of various educational institutions to conduct more road safety awareness programmes with the subject experts.
Mr. E.S. Murugesan, Regional Transport Officer, Namakkal South, in his keynote address, Tamil Nadu State consistently ranks as one of the states with the highest number of road accidents in India. Each one, we must follow the road traffic rules, avoid distractions like mobile phones, never drink and drive, wear helmets/seat belts and maintain a safe speed and distance, he stated.
On behalf of Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, Mrs. L. Deepika, Assistant Professor of English/Coordinator of Road Safety Club, Dr. M. Selvi, Librarian & Member of Road Safety Club, Ms. M. Rineesha, Assistant Professor of Chemistry & Member of Road Safety Club and the students members of the Club, Ms. K. Sandhiya, second year B.A., English and Ms. M. Pragathi, first year B.A., English also attended the road safety awareness programme.
