Programme on “Pledge against Child Marriage”
On behalf of Trinity Women’s Forum, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal conducted the pledge-taking ceremony in connection with the child marriage on 11.12.2025. The main aim of that campaign, Child Marriage Free India (Bal Vivah Mukt Bharat) to eliminate child marriage and safeguard the rights of children, particularly, girls across the India. The theme of the event – “Lets Protect Girls and Educate Girls” (பெண் குழந்தைகளை காப்போம்……. பெண் குழந்தைகளுக்கு கற்பிப்போம்…..)
Mrs. M. Sumathi, Rural Welfare Officer, Panchayat Union Office, Mohanur Block, Namakkal District and Mrs. B. Siyamala, Social Welfare Officer and Care Worker, Shakii-One Stop Centre, Department of Social Welfare & Women Empowerment, Namakkal District were the special invitees.
All the students of the College took the pledge against child marriage. The event was coordinated by Mrs. R. Rupa, Assistant Professor and Head, Department of Nutrition and Dietetics & Coordinator, Trinity Women’s Forum of the College.
