On behalf of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Cell, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, we maintain solid waste management in our college.
The management of Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, facilitates several techniques for the management of degradable and non-degradable waste. The primary focus is to reduce, reuse, and recycle the waste. The college has been declared a plastic-free zone by the college administration. Apart from that, the three members of the NAAC committee visited our institution on February 8 and 9, 2023 for the purpose of NAAC accreditation. They pointed out in the final report that “green and clean are the two eyes of Trinity.”
In this continuation, on behalf of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Cell, we maintain the solid waste management programme on our college campus. Our College has organized a programme entitled “Demo of solid waste management – from plant leaves to organic fertilizers” on 13th June 2024 on the college campus.
Mrs. S. Hemalatha, Assistant Professor in Tamil and Coordinator of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Cell, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, explained the process of solid waste management from the waste plant leaves to natural manure production. Due to the encouragement of solid waste management, we collected the leaves of trees and plants on the campus of Trinity Educational Institutions. Also, they put in the pit and recycle the compost produced in this way and use it again as organic farming. These organic fertilizers are used by plants and trees as natural compost, she said.
Mrs. Aruna Selvaraj, Executive Director, Dr. M.R. Lakshiminarayanan, Principal, Dr. Arasuparameswaran, Coordinator – Silver Jubilee Celebrations, The representative of UBA adopted villages Dr. R. Navamani (Pettapalayam), Dr. A. Latha (Parali), Mrs. S. Priya (Aniyapuram), Mrs. V. Gokila (Vagurampatti), Mrs. D. Prabha (Tholur) Mrs. K. Padmavathi, Assistant Professor in Tamil and many of the students of our College also took part in that demonstration programme.
