One day workshop cum orientation programme for the coordinators of UBA
Under the auspices of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Cell, The Regional Coordinating Institute of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore organized a one day workshop cum orientation programme on 09th March 2026 for the coordinators of UBA Cell in the premises of St. Joseph’s College, Trichirappalli.
More than 150 higher educational institutions in and around Tamil Nadu state took part. It’s aimed to equip UBA coordinators with insights and skills to implement the scheme’s initiatives successfully.
Prof. Dr. E. Somasundaram, Director – Agri Business Development, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore, was the chief guest, in his address, urged that Colleges should act as stimulus for rural transformation through knowledge transfer and kept up community engagement. All the Coordinators, village faculty and student representatives of UBA Cell have to regularly visit UBA network villages, interact with people and implement requirement-based development initiatives, he said.

Jeyachandran, Senior Coordinator, Extension Department, SHEPHERD, St. Joseph’s College,Trichirappalli, Dr. C. Muralidharan, Professor, Human Resource Management, Agri Business Development, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore, Dr. S. Dominique, Faculty of Physics, St. Joseph’s College, Trichirappalli and other subject experts spoke on that occasion.
