One-Day Workshop on “Computer Applications in Business – Usage of SPSS Software
The Postgraduate and Research Department of Commerce, in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell and the Institution’s Innovation Council, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, organized a one-day workshop entitled “Computer Applications in Business – Usage of SPSS Software” on September 25 & 29, 2026 and September 1st, 2026.
The workshop was conducted by Mr. V. Ananthakumar, Statistical Analyst, Sri Vinayaga Nagar, Trichy Main Road, Nagarajapuram, Vasanthapuram Post, Namakkal.
The main objective of the workshop was to enable the participants to operate the SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) software independently and understand when and which statistical method to apply. The workshop covered essential topics such as data entry and coding, data cleaning, descriptive statistics, reliability analysis, correlation, regression analysis, t-tests, chi-square tests, factor analysis, hypothesis testing, and interpretation of SPSS outputs.
Dr. M. Sasikala, Assistant Professor and Head, Postgraduate and Research Department of Commerce, welcomed the gathering. The faculty members of the Department of Commerce, Dr. S. Devi, Dr. G. Sathiya Sangari, Dr. M. Umamageswari, Mrs. M. Rajapadmavathi, Mrs. A. Rajeswari, Dr. D. Indumathi, and Mrs. R. Indhumathi, along with the students of the M.Com. Degree (both first year and second year), took part.
