Celebration of World Mother’s Language Day
Owing to the International Mother Language Day (21st February), The Institution Innovation Council, in association with the department of Tamil, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, enthusiastically celebrated this auspicious day on 19th February 2025 on the College campus.
On this subject, Dr. M. Govindarasu, Principal, Namakkal Kavignar Ramalingam Government Arts College for Women, Namakkal & Leading Tamil Scholar was the special invitee.
In college, the majority of student’s native & mother language is Tamil. The aim of the programme was to promote and popularize the mother tongue of Tamil among students of the college.
Dr. M.Govindarasu, emphasized the significance and necessity of Mother Language in his lecture. In his address, he gave thanks to Trinity College for women for taking the initiative of celebrating this day in a big way. Also, he said the native language is often deeply intertwined with one’s cultural identity and heritage.
Mrs. Aruna Selvaraj, Executive Director presided over the programme. Dr. M.R. Lakshiminarayanan, Principal, welcomed the gathering. The resource person was introduced by Dr. Arasuparameswaran, Coordinator – Silver Jubilee Celebrations of the College. The faculty of Tamil, Dr. T.K. Anuradha, Dr. R. Savithri, Mrs. S. Jayamathi, Dr. A. Latha, Dr. B. Vishnupriya, Dr. C. Gobiya, Dr. R.A. Anitha, Mrs. S. Hemalatha, Mrs. K. Barathi, Dr. T. Geetha, Mrs. K. Padmavathi and Dr. N. Subalakshmi also participated in that programme.
