Programme on “Research Grant from the various Funding Agencies”

The Institution’s Innovation Council, Internal Quality Assurance Cell, and the Research & Development Cell of Trinity College for Women, Namakkal,  organized a one-day workshop on “Seed Grant Proposal Writing” (Sub-Theme of “Cross-Disciplinary Thematic Research and Output Enhancement”) on August 20th,  2026.

“Guidance and Support Sessions for Preparing and Submitting Research Proposals to Various Funding Agencies”

 

The title of the workshop was “Research and Development Funding Agencies in India: An Overall Review.”
Dr. K. Vijayakumari, Assistant Professor of Computer Science & Dr.  R. Sakunthaladevi, Assistant Professor of Physics, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal were the resource persons. Many government and private funding agencies are available in India and abroad. They provide monitoring grants for scientific research areas like social science, science and technology, and so on. The main aim of granting funds to the researchers is to develop research and development, they said.

They also explained the various ways to get funds from the Department of Science & Technology (DST), the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), the Science & Engineering Research Council (SERC), the Indian Council for Agricultural Research (ICAR), the Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR), the National Academy of Agricultural Sciences (NAAS), the ICSSR (Indian Council for Social Science and Research), the Tamil Nadu State Council for Science and Technology (TNSCST), the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), and the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), etc.    All the faculty members as well as the Postgraduate students of the college attended that program.
