Programme on “Standard Club”
On behalf of the Standard Club, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, organized a program on September 15, 2026, on the college premises.
Dr. R. Sakunthaladevi, Assistant Professor of Physics and Mentor of the Standard Club, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, delivered a lecture on the topic titled “Mandatory Hallmarking and Consumer Protection”.
Dr. R. Sakunthaladevi explained the legal necessity of hallmarking precious metals of gold and silver for preventing fraud. She also highlighted the identification of hallmark components, such as the BIS Logo, purity grade, unique-digit hallmark, and unique identification code. Apart from that, she pointed out the needs of consumer rights under the Consumer Protection Act 1986 onwards, especially when purchasing ISI-branded products. All the members of the Standard Club actively took part.
