Swachch Bharat Abhiyan
31 volunteers of the National Service Scheme and the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Cell from Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, organized a cleanliness drive at the Namakkal New Mofussil Bus Stand, Mudalaipatti, in the corporation limit of Namakkal, with the support of the Namakkal City Municipal Corporation on Thursday, October 1, 2026.
Mr. S. Selva Balaji, Commissioner, Namakkal City Municipal Corporation, inaugurated the program.
Owing to the birth anniversary of the Father of our Nation, Mahatma Gandhiji, this program was organized. The volunteers not only cleaned the new bus stand area but also collected the non-biodegradable waste littered inside the bus stand. Besides that, they interacted with the shopkeepers and urged them to use paper bags instead of plastic. The cleanliness activity was carried out with much zeal and enthusiasm by the volunteers. The NSS Programme Officer, Mrs. V. Kalaivani and Dr. S. Revathy, Representative of UBA Networking Village of Vagurampatti, Namakkal City, were also present on that occasion.
Mr. P. Selvakumar, Sanitary Inspector (Level 1), Mr. R. Baskaran, Sanitary Inspector (Level 2), Mrs. M. Nandhini, Sanitary Inspector (Level 3), Mr. K. Sekar, Coordinator of Swachh Bharat Mission and Mrs. S. Eswari, Coordinator, Swachh Bharat Mission, Namakkal City Corporation also took part.
