The Anti-Drug Cell, in support of the National Service Scheme at Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, organised a “Drug Awareness Programme (Nasha Mukt Bharat, Khushhaal Bharat – Drug-Free India, Prosperous India) via Video Relay” on 10.07.2026

The Anti-Drug Cell, in support of the National Service Scheme, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, organised “An Awareness Programme (Nasha Mukt Bharat, Khushhaal Bharat – Drug-Free India, Prosperous India) on Video Relay” on 10th July 2026 on the college premises.

 The initiative aimed to educate our college students about the dangers of drug abuse, promote responsible behaviour, and foster a sense of social responsibility among the student community.

The primary goals of the Drug Awareness Initiative were the following:

1.    To promote a drug-free lifestyle
2.    To educate our students about the harmful effects of drug abuse on their physical, mental, and social well-being.
3.    To encourage responsible behaviour and decision-making among students.
4.   To download the apps Drug-Free Tamil Nadu, Kavalan App, and Singapenn.

  Dr S. Jeyanthi, Assistant Professor of Mathematics & Coordinator, Anti-Drug Club, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, spoke to the students of the college. She discussed how students should act to create a drug-free society, the consequences the society faces due to drug use, and how to prevent drug abuse. During the awareness programme, various helpline numbers such as Child Help Line (1098), Police Help Line (100), Women’s Help Line (181 & 1091), Senior Citizen Helpline (14567), Mental Stress Help Line (14416), Disaster Help Line (1077), and Ambulance HelpLine (108) were displayed via video conferencing. More than 200 students of the college benefited from the programme.
