Road Safety Awareness Programme

          The Citizen Consumer Club, Road Safety Club, Youth Red Cross, National Service Scheme,  Red Ribbon Club and Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Cell, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, organized a “Road Safety Awareness Programme on 28.10.2025 in the college premises. 

          Dr. M.R. Lakshiminarayanan, Principal, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal presided over the programme.   

          Mr. E.S. Murugesan, Regional Transport Officer, Namakkal South was the chief guest.    

          The Road Safety Book was released by the RTO, Namakkal (South) and the first copy was received by the Principal of Trinity College for Women, Namakkal. 

           Human life is priceless.    Every day, road accidents are frequently caused in some of the places in the district.    Owing to over speed,  drunken driving, not wearing a helmet, not obeying the traffic rules, talking on a mobile while driving the vehicle, non-maintenance of the vehicle, inexperienced driver, etc., these road accidents are held, the RTO spoke.     Each and every person should follow the road safety rules, he emphasized.   

          Mr. C. R. Rajeshkannan, District Relation Officer, Road Safety & Anti-Drug Club President, Namakkal District Collector’s Office, Namakkal offered the felicitation address, and he highlighted the needs of this type of awareness programme for students and staff members.  

          Mr. A. Narasimma Mani, Trainer and Instructor of Driving Needs Academy, Iyer Bungalow, Madurai was the special invitee. 

          He demonstrated what road safety is essential for each and every citizen, the requirement for prevention of road accidents, the need to follow the traffic rules, the use of road safety icons & images,  slogans on road safety, etc., through the PowerPoint presentation.  

          Dr. S. Devi (Coordinator – CCC), Mrs.V. Gokila (Programme Officer – NSS), Mrs. V. Kalaivani (Coordinator – YRC), Mrs. S. Hemalatha, (Coordinator, UBA Cell), along with the first year undergraduate and postgraduate students took part.
