National Science Day—celebrated by the department of chemistry.
The Department of Chemistry, in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, celebrated National Science Day on 24th February 2025 in the venue of the seminar hall of the College.
Er. K. Nallusamy, Chairman, presided over the programme. Mrs. Aruna Selvaraj, Executive Director & Dr. Arasuparameswaran, Coordinator – Silver Jubilee Celebrations offered the felicitation address.
Dr. M.R. Lakshiminarayanan, Principal, welcomed the gathering.
Dr. R. Jagatheesan, Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry, Vivekanandha College of Arts and Science for Women (Autonomous), Elayampalayam, Tiruchengode, Namakkal District, was the resource person. He delivered the topic titled “Empowering Indian Youth for Global Leadership in Science.”. .
The nation’s future depends on the youth. As our country strives towards becoming a developed India (Viksit Bharat), it is pivotal to equip the next generation with the knowledge, skills, enthusiasm, and passion needed to lead in science, innovation, technology, and sustainable development. Now, we face climate change and global warming on an international level. We have to find out the solutions. We focus on green chemistry and the safeguard of our environment and agriculture, he said.
