Event on “Threads of Tradition”
The Department of Costume Design & Fashion, in association with the Entrepreneurship Development Cell, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, conducted a Programme entitled “Saree Exhibition & Draping Memo Cum Saree Sale” (Threads of Tradition) on 30th September 2025 in the College premises.
Mr. P. Ramakrishnan & Mr. R. Nandhakumar, M/s. Sri Mahalakshmi Tex, Nachampatti, Jalakantapuram, Salem District and Ms. M. Tamilarasi, M/s. Anvil Sarees, Paramathi, Namakkal District were the special invitees.
Saree draping is not only a traditional art but also a necessity like skill that reflects personal grooming and cultural heritage, they said. Also, they provided hands-on training on advanced draping techniques. In addition, they exhibited handloom sarees. Many of the students as well as faculty members of the College have purchased these handloom sarees for the forthcoming Diwali Festival, which is celebrated on 20th October 2025.
