Programme on Frugal Innovation
The Entrepreneurship Development Cell, the Institution’s Innovation Council and Internal Quality Assurance Cell, in association with the postgraduate and research departments of Commerce, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, conducted a webinar programme titled “Frugal Innovation – Doing more with less” on 23rd August 2025. It was held through the platform of Google Meet. Dr. M. R. Lakshiminarayanan, Principal, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal presided over the programme.
Dr. J. M. Shoba, Head, Department of English, IIC President & Innovation Ambassador, Adhiyaman Arts and Science College for Women, Arasampatti Road, Srinivasa Nagar, Samalpatti, Uthangarai Taluk, Krishnagiri District & Member Syndicate – Periyar University, Salem was the resource person.
Frugal Innovation is a business proposal concentrated on “Doing more with less” by creatively using limited sources to create reasonable, attainable and sustainable solutions. It means we expand the business markets with a minimum budget, it emphasizes simplicity, efficiency and user needs to develop cost-effective products and services,” she said. Also, she explained the concepts, principles, characteristics, challenges and opportunities of frugal innovation in business entrepreneurship.
Nearly 100 students and faculty members of the college took part.
The faculty members of Commerce, Dr. M. Sasikala, Dr. G. Nithya, Dr. S. Devi, Dr. G. Sathiya Sangari, Dr. M. Umamageswari, Mrs. M. Rajapadmavathi, Mrs A. Rajeswari, Dr. N. Elamathi, Coordinator of IQAC and Dr. A. Vijayasarathi, Coordinator of IIC of the College also took part in that webinar programme.
