Start-up Innovation Programme
The Entrepreneurship Development Cell, The Institution’s Innovation Council, Internal Quality and Assurance Cell, in support of Departments of Commerce & Computer Science, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal jointly conducted an interactive session titled “Achieving Problem-Solution Fit & Product – Market Fit” on 10th February 2025 (Monday). It was held through the platform of Google Meet.
Dr. V. Dheenadhayalan, Associate Professor and Head, Postgraduate and Research Department of Commerce, Arulmigu Subramanya Swamy Government Arts College (Deputation from Annamalai University, Annamalai Nagar, Chidambaram), Tiruttani, Thiruvallur District was the resource person.
The higher education system of India is considered as one of the biggest in the world in respect of the number of higher educational institutions and stands in the top three largest startup ecosystems. In the last decade, the Indian higher education system has grown by nearly 80 per cent. Now, India has more or less 41450 higher educational institutions and an annual enrolment of 2,84,84,746 students. Entrepreneurship and start-up policies play an important role in the economic and social growth of a nation. There are plenty of opportunities for young entrepreneurs for start-up programmes. More benefits are available for young business industrialists, such as the Mudra yojana loan scheme, tax benefits, financial benefits, innovative promotions, tax exemption, networking opportunities, national intellectual property rights policy, AIM (Atal Innovation Mission), etc., Planning, investment, team work, modifying the trends of customers, creating new innovative ideas, utilization of resources and implementation of strategies are needed for start-up, he said.
Dr. M.R. Lakshiminarayanan, Principal, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal presided over the webinar. Dr. N. Elamathi, Coordinator, IQAC, Dr. M. Sasikala, NSS Programme Officer (Unit 1), Dr. A. Vijayasarathi, Coordinator – IIC and the members of various cells took part.
Nearly 100 students benefited through that programme.
