Awareness Programme on “Women Entrepreneurship”

The Postgraduate and Research, Department of Commerce, in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council, Internal Quality Assurance Cell and entrepreneurship Development cell, Trinity College for women, Namakkal conducted a programme titled “Career options for commerce graduates and women’s entrepreneurship in India – An insight into complication, outlook and development” on 06th February 2025 in the seminar hall of the College.

Mr. K. Nallusamy, Managing Director, Thenpandiyan Group of Companies, Namakkal was the special invitee.

Plenty of job opportunities are available for Commerce Graduates.    However, many of the students are not interested in pursuing CA related courses as well as women’s entrepreneurship.

Female entrepreneurship in India is very low in comparison to developed countries like the United States of America, The United Kingdom, Australia, Canada and Sweden.

In particular, rural women’s entrepreneurship is significantly at the lowest level. Indian society is deeply deep-rooted in tradition, so educated Indian women have to travel a long way to accomplish something.      However, we have to focus on the enhancement of women’s entrepreneurship for our VIKSIT Bharat 2047.  Participation of women in entrepreneurship is necessary to the development of our nation, he noted.   Also, he highlighted the problems of women entrepreneurs, obstacles, opportunities and the government financial institutions loan facilities for rural women entrepreneurs.

Mrs. Aruna Selvaraj, Executive Director, presided over the programme.  Dr. M.R. Lakshiminarayanan, Principal, delivered the Principal’s address.   Dr. M. Sasikala, Assistant Professor and Head, Department of Commerce welcomed the gathering. Ms. K.  Siddharthi,  second year M.Com., proposed the vote of thanks.   This programme was compiled by Ms. B. Shivani shree, first year M.Com., and Ms. Thahani Naveeth, third year B.Com., CA., of College.
