Two-wheeler and four-wheeler
The Value Added Programme Cell, Trinity College for Women (Arts and Science), Namakkal, in collaboration with M/s. Sri Lakshmi Driving School, Namakkal, inaugurated the program titled “Getting a two-wheeler license: with gear and without gear and Light Motor Vehicle license (Four Wheeler)” on August 5th, 2026, in the College premises.
In addition to the Periyar University Syllabus, interested students, faculty members, and non-teaching staff members can learn two-wheeler and car driving during the college working hours (according to the timetable).
Mr. B. Anand, Director, Sri Lakshmi Driving School, Salem Road Corner, Near KS theatre, Namakkal, was the Coordinator of the program. Nowadays, driving a car and riding a bicycle have become essential for both males and females. In this regard, The Value Added Cell, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, and Sri Lakshmi Driving School, Namakkal, have jointly organized this program from August 5, 2026, onwards.
Obtaining a driving license is mandatory for all drivers of two-wheelers, four-wheelers, and heavy vehicles. Anyone who has completed 18 years of age may operate a two-wheeler. Many drivers of two-wheelers have not obtained this important driving license, Mr. B. Anand, Director of Sri Lakshmi Driving School, stated.
He also explained what documents are needed while driving, as well as the rules, regulations, and syllabus for the formalities of LLR (Learner’s License Record).
In this inaugural ceremony, Mrs. Aruna Selvaraj, Executive Director, Dr. M. R. Lakshiminarayanan, Principal, Dr. R. Navamani, Vice-Principal, Mr. N. S. Senthilkumar, Administrative Officer, Mrs. S. Bhuvaneswari, Coordinator – Value Added Programme Cell, Mrs. B. Kavitha, HOD of Physics and Mrs. V. Indirakumari, HOD of Chemistry also participated.
The trainers of Sri Lakshmi Driving School have provided training for riding two-wheelers as well as light motor vehicles (cars, etc.) to the students, faculty, and non-teaching staff members. Apart from that, they will obtain driving licenses from either the Regional Transport Officer, Namakkal North, or the Regional Transport Officer, Namakkal South.
