4 day computer literacy programme for plus 2 girl students in and around Namakkal = 09 to 12.10.23

4 day workshop on “Computer Learning Programme for Higher Secondary Rural Girl Students in and around Namakkal district in Tamil Nadu State”

(October 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th, 2023)

The department of Computer Science, Trinity College for Women (Arts and Science), Namakkal, in support of the Tamil Nadu State Council for Science and Technology, Government of Tamil Nadu (TNSCST), Chennai, and the National Council for Science and Technology, Government of India, New Delhi, jointly organised a 4-day event entitled ““Computer Learning Programme for Higher Secondary Rural Girl Students in and around Namakkal district in Tamil Nadu State” from October 9, 2023, to October 12, 2023 (Thursday).

On this subject, an inaugural function was held on October 9, 2023, in the Trinity Auditorium.

Mrs. Aruna Selvaraj, Executive Director of the College, inaugurated the programme. Dr. M.R. Lakshiminarayanan, principal, welcomed the gathering. Dr. Arasuparameswaran, Director – Academics, offered his felicitation address.

  Dr.V. Vijayadeepa, Head, Academy of Computer Science, Muthayammal College of Arts and Science (Autonomous), A Vanetra Group of Educational Institutions, Rasipuram, Namakkal District; Mr. K. Muralidharan, Chairman and Founder, Sri Kalaimagal Technical Institutions, Namakkal, Karur, and Trichy Districts; and Dr. N. Vijayarani, Faculty of Computer Science, Namakkal Kavignar Ramalingam Government Arts College for Women, Namakkal, were the special invitees.

Nearly 700 students from Namakkal, Mohanur, Valayapatti, N. Pudupatti, Erumapatti, Sendamangalam, and its neighbouring areas took part in that 4-day awareness programme.

The faculty of Computer Science, Dr. N. Elamathi, Mrs. R. Navamani, Mr. N.S. Senthilkumar, Mrs. R. Bhuvaneswari, Mrs. A. Vijayasarathi, Mrs. S. Usharani,  Mrs. S. Priya, Mrs. K. Mekala, Mrs. M. Malathi, Dr. K. Vijayakumari,  Mrs. A. Kavitha, Mrs. V. Abirami, Mrs. D. Prabha, Mrs. V. Gayathri, and Mrs. P. Navajyothi handled the classes both theoretically and practically.

Computers are essential for today’s competitive world. On account of the benefit to higher secondary rural girl students in and around Namakkal District, we conducted these programs. These programmes covered various topics like the fundamentals of computers, input devices, output devices, Microsoft Word files, MS Excel format, PDF, creation and usage of email, browsing the internet, utilisation of social websites, etc. Both theory and practical classes were conducted for them.

  • I am living with my parents and my older brother. My brother is studying in Plus 2 at the Government Higher Secondary School at Valayapatti. I am pursuing Plus 1, and I study at the same school. I got this opportunity to attend this programme. But my brother is not getting a chance to take part. My elder brother asked me why there was no opportunity for boy students. In the future, kindly invite all the students, both boys and girls.
