As part of the Naan Mudhalvan, Periyar University, Salem conducted a one-day sensitization program and review meeting on January 31, 2024, for the benefit of Periyar University-affiliated college principals and the SPOOC’s of Naan Mudhalvan. 

It was held in the venue of Senate Hall, Periyar University, Periyar Palkalai Nagar.

Dr. S. Balamurugan, Assistant Professor in Management Studies, PRIMS, Periyar University, Salem, welcomed the gathering.

Dr. P. Thirumoorthi, Professor in Management Studies, PRIMS, Periyar University, Salem, delivered the keynote address.

Dr. K. Jayaraman, Professor and Head, Department of Economics, and Dean of the College Development Council, Periyar University, Salem, gave the inaugural address.

Mr. M. Vinoth, Program Manager, Tamil Nadu Skill Development, Chennai, was the resource person. These courses are applicable for 103 Arts and Sciences Colleges affiliated with Periyar University, Salem. It includes Namakkal District (25), Dharmapuri District (27), Krishnagiri District (15), and Salem District (36). It begins on February 5, 2024, and ends on March 29, 2023, she stated.   Also, he explained the availability of various Naan Mudhalvan courses, the implementation of a timetable for even semesters, the roles and responsibilities of principals and MOOCs for successful execution of these courses, the timeline of activities, the submission of internal and external marks, attendance, and so on.

Dr. K. Jayaraman highlighted the importance of the Naan Mudhalvan courses and the enhancement of soft skills programs for the benefit of the student community.

Dr. P. Thirumoorthy said Periyar University is the number one university in Tamil Nadu state for successfully implementing the Naan Mudhalvan courses. The principals and the coordinators of Naan Mudhalvan have been highly cooperative in executing these programs.

Many principals and the coordinators of SPOOCs at Periyar University-affiliated colleges took part in that one-day sensititative program.

On behalf of Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, Dr. M.R. Lakshiminarayanan, Principal, and Dr. B.Vishnupriya, Assistant Professor in Tamil & Coordinator, Naan Mudhalvan, participated in that program.
