In a consequence of the international year of Millet, the department of Food Science and Nutrition, Periyar University, Salem organized a one day millet based cookathon on 20th March 2023 in the College food and production lab.   Dr. T. Poongodi Vijayakumar, Professor and Head, Department of Food Science and Nutrition, the faculty of this department Dr. J. Prakash Maran, Dr. R. Parimaladevi, Dr. S. Thilagavathi, Dr. K. Karthikeyan, Dr. P. Karthika, Dr. M. Deepa and Mrs. Jothimangalam, Faculty, B.Voc Professor, Department of Food Science and Nutrition, Periyar University organized this cookathon.   More than 100 students in various Colleges of Tamil nadu state took part in that programme.  4 students of Nutrition and Dietetics took part in that event.  Our second year B.Sc., Nutrition & Dietetics students Ms. K. Sanajana got second place in the fireless cooking.

                   The faculty of the Nutrition and Dietetics department Ms. P. Srirenugadevi and Ms. P. Somiya were the caretakers for the above said students. 

                             A felicitation function was held on 05.04.2023 in the College campus for the above said participants.
