The Training and Placement Cell of our College organized a two day workshop entitled “Enhancement of Soft Skills” on 24.9.19 & 25.9.19 in our College campus.   On this subject, Mrs. V. Ramya, Senior Soft Skill Trainer, Sona Yukti (P) Ltd., Bengaluru was the resource person.  She explained the various soft skills contents like creative skills, time management, staff management, stress management, conflict management, personality development, body language, decision making skills, behavior skills, inter personal communication skills, etc.,      
Dr M.R. Lakshiminarayanan, Principal welcomed the gathering.   Mr. K. Manoharan, Director – Training and Placement highlighted the significance of soft skills for placement of job.   Dr. Arasuparameswaran, Director – Academic offered the felicitation address.   Administrative Officer Mr. N.S. Senthilkumar and all the Placement Cell Incharges took part on that occasion. 

CIVIL SERVICE

Our College Training and Placement Cell organized a one day programme entitled “Awareness Programme on civil service examinations” on 26.9.19 in the College Mini Seminar Hall. 

               Mr. S. Rajasekar, Director – University and College Affairs & Trainers, Kingmaker IAS Academy, Chennai was the resource person.  He instructed the students to plan their course ahead and begin preparing for the civil service examinations ever since they joined the college. He suggested them to establish a right kind of attitude in all aspects to aspire for government jobs. Moreover, he encouraged and promoted the students that they can crack the civil service examinations within six months if they work hard and prepare sincerely, constantly and continuously. The special invitee Mr. C. Nagadutta, Faculty of Kingmaker IAS Academy suggested them to concentrate on the subjects like science and technology, history, sports, economics, geography, political science, etc., Furthermore, the students are expected to be good at English so that they can read and understand newspapers and journals to be well-versed in current affairs.   He emphasized that student should study the English Newspapers such as “The Hindu” for updating of our current affairs.               Mr. R. National Public School (Senior Secondary)

Pravin Karanth, Faculty Member,  “The N Force – The Nilgiri’s Foundation of Research in Communicative English and Soft Skills, Near Head Post Office, Kotagiri, The Nilgiris District was the resource person.    He explained the various teaching job opportunities available at present in the educational institutions of Schools, Colleges and Universities in and around South India.   Dr. Arasuparameswaran, Director – Academic of our College welcomed the gathering.   Mr. P.K. “Career Guidance Programme for College Students (Both Entrepreneurship and Government Sectors)”

The College Placement Cell, Entrepreneurship Development Cell, Research, Development & Innovation Cell and District Employment Office, Namakkal jointly organize a one day webinar event entitled “Career Guidance Programme for College Students (Both Entrepreneurship and Government Sectors)” on 15th December 2020 (Tuesday) at 10.15 A.M.             This event was held through the Google Meet. 
                     In this regard, Mrs. R. Radhiga, District Employment Officer,  Namakkal was the invited speaker.                                    Tamil Nadu Government recruits all types of Qualifications like 10th standard, 12th, Any Degree jobs for all eligible candidates through written and oral examinations.   As per our norms of Tamil Government, 69% of reservation system is followed in all the Government Jobs, she enumerated.  Hard working, technical knowledge, subject knowledge, communication skills, personality development and other soft skills are needed for all the industries both the Government and Private sectors, she stressed.  Apart from Tamil Nadu Government jobs, she explained the job opportunities in the Government sectors of Railway, Banks, Defense, Police, Army, Navy, Staff Selection Commission and Civil Service Examinations.   Beside that she highlighted the significance of entrepreneurship for our nation’s development.          

           The Placement Cell of Trinity College for Women is doing career counseling in a way that it generates awareness and also stimulates the students to choose the better career/employment.   This organization suggests assisting and helping students by providing valuable counseling, moral support and exploring solutions for the problems being faced, Dr M.R. Lakshiminarayanan, Principal of the College highlighted in that webinar.

Inauguration Programme on “Coaching Classes for TNPSC Group 2 Examinations:-

         “District Employment & Career Guidance Centre, Namakkal” and “Placement Cell of Trinity College for Women (Arts and Science), Namakkal are jointly conducted a online google meet programme in the title of “Coaching Classes for TNPSC Group 2 Examinations” from 17th May 2021 onwards.   In this regard, the inauguration programme was held on 17th May 2021 @ 10.30 AM in the platform of Google Meet.  

Mrs. R. Radhiga, District Employment Officer, Namakkal district inaugurated the programme.   She has kicked in some tips for achievement in that competitive examinations namely stay positive and confident, prepare and follow a time table, focus on preparation of important topics, personal evaluation, dedication, involvement, time management, hard work, etc.,

The Placement Cell of Trinity College for Women (Arts and Science), Namakkal and M/s. Sivarajavel IAS Academy, Anna Nagar, Chennai jointly conducted a webinar event in the title of “Career opportunities in Civil Services, TNPSC and UPSC” on the date of 15th September 2021 (Wednesday) @ 11 AM.  This programme was held through the platform of Zoom.     Mr. S. Sivarajavel, Director –Sivaraj IAS Academy, Chennai Branch, Chennai was the invited speaker.    Mr. Sivarajavel explained the kinds of civil service examinations like Indian Administrative Service, Indian Police Service and Indian Forest Service.  Beside that he gave some tips to clear the Government competitive Examinations easily.

The Placement Cell, IQAC and RDIC, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal organized an online webinar event on 14th June 2021.   The title of the webinar was “Career opportunities in civil service examinations”.  Mr. S. Rajasekar, Competitive Exam Trainer & Author of Civil Service Books  & Mr. V.R. Sriramadesikan, Chief Coordinator & Executive Member, Chinmaya Academy for Civil Services & Chinmaya Academy of Management, Chennai were the resource persons.Mr. S. Rajasekar gave some tips for civil service examinations especially for beginners.  Self confidence, hard work, time management, planning of study, make a time table, knowing the UPSC syllabus, regular reading of newspapers/current affairs, choosing correct optional subjects, refer the NCERT books, making notes clearly, preference to answer writing practice, solving previous years UPSC question papers, self assessment of mock test series, utilization of important government resources like Government Websites, Watching Rajya Sabha Television Programmes, Read out UPSC related magazines yojana kurukshetra, economic and political weekly, etc.,

                  The civil service examinations are not a child’s play.  It requires commitment, dedication, hard work, enthusiasm, planned studies and determination.   Unlike any other examination, this exam’s syllabus is vast and broad.  The candidates should enhance their knowledge and develop administrative traits.  But, we can do it and succeed.   It needs right direction, dedication, time management, right study material, smart work and knowledge of current events, in parallel with a confident smart personality with leadership qualities, Mr. V.K. Siramadesikan quotes in his speech.

Preparation strategy for competitive examinations

The Placement Cell of Trinity College for Women, Namakkal conducted a special talk on  “Preparation strategy for competitive examinations” on 27th November 2021 for the benefit of final year Undergraduate and Postgraduate students of our College.  Mr. A.T. Rajganesh, Director, Career Solutions & Infotechs, Chennai was the invited speaker.    The resource person briefly touched upon the TNPSC Examinations and updated them on the various current topics.   Further, he addressed the students as to how to prepare and study for such examinations, method of study, memory techniques, use of various websites, strategic planning, etc.,    Dr B. The Placement Cell, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal organized an event in the title of “Government Competitive Examinations – Tips for Preparatory Measures”on 20th November 2021.   Mr. S Nirmal Valan Arasu, Consultant & Motivational Speaker &  Mr. J. Balaji, Keynote Speaker,  Brilliant Educational Academy, Madurai were the resource persons.   
             There are a lot of Government Examinations held in India like UPSC (Union Public Service Commission), SSC (Staff Selection Commission), BSRB (Banking Service Recruitment Board), Public Service Examinations and other competitive examinations for the benefit of job seekers for different states.   In this regard, study material preparations are the important task for each and every student who appears for Government Competitive Examinations.  Selection of books is important for competitors.  All the appeared students have to select a quality of books.  Apart from that, read out the leading newspapers of English and Tamil dailies for updating current affairs, they said.Dr.  B. The Placement Cell of Trinity College for Women, Namakkal conducted a campus interview on 29.04.2022.    Teaching and technical staff members have been selected through our Institution, to the institution of Sri Chaitanya School (CBSE), Techno Curriculum, Thuraiyur Road, Namakkal.    Our College final year students both Undergraduate and Postgraduate enthusiastically participated in that placement interview.   Mrs. L. Subhashini, Principal, Ms. R. Dharani, Vice-Principal and Mrs. N. Gayathri, Tele caller, Sri Chaitanya School (CBSE), Techno Curriculum, Thuraiyur Road, Namakkal  have visited to our Institution on that day and conducting various interview process, viz written test, group discussion, class taking and personal interview.

Smart Phone Servicing and Troubleshooting

Android phones are very essential for our day-to-day activities.   The majority of people have android phones.    Particularly, during the period of COVID -19 lock down, many online classes have been executed for the benefit of students of Schools, Colleges, Universities and other higher educational institutions through the touch screen mobile.   In this regard, the Department of Physics, Placement Cell and Internal Quality Assurance Cell of Trinity College for Women, Namakkal in support of M/s. New Technology Mobile Service and Training Institute, Singanallur, Coimbatore (AICTE Certified Institution – Internship) jointly organized a two day workshop entitled “Smart Phone Servicing and Troubleshooting” on 21.03.2022 & 22.03.2022.  It was held in the venue of the Physics laboratory.  203 students of various courses participated in that event.  Giving support to students including extracurricular programs along with University curriculum is very important, on this subject, it was organized for the sake of our students of Trinity College for Women, Namakkal.

Like Skills Training Programme – Interview Skills & Employability Skills

The Placement Cell, Internal Quality Assurance Cell & Institution’s Innovation Cell of Trinity College for Women, Namakkal and GTT Global Talent Track) Foundation, Pune, in support of Barclays, Chennai conducted a 3 day programme in the title of “Like Skills Training Programme – Interview Skills & Employability Skills” from 04th April 2022 to 6th April 2022 (Monday to Wednesday) for the benefit of final year Undergraduate and Postgraduate students.   

      Mr. P. Kathiresan, Trainer, GTT (Global Talent Track), Foundation, Pune, Maharashtra state was the resource person.   He delivered on the topic of “Life skill training programme – interview skills and employability skills’ ‘.   

 He focussed the various placement related topics like management, communication, team work, leadership, problem solving, learning, creating, technology, initiative, emotional intelligence, writing & speaking skills, social skills, decision making, time management, adaptability, critical thinking, computer literacy, interpersonal skills, etc.,   

Dr. B. Lakshmi, Placement Cell Officer of the College welcomed the gathering.  

Dr. G. Sathiya Sangari, Placement Cell Member proposed the vote of thanks. 

The Placement Cell Members Mrs. S. Bharathi, AP in English, Mrs. P. Nandhini, AP in Mathematics, Dr. M. Ganga, AP in Chemistry and Ms. S. Priya, AP in Computer Science also took part in that placement training programme.  

More than 250 final year students both UG and PG benefited through this placement training.

The Placement Cell of Trinity College for Women, Namakkal conducted a one day workshop in the title of “Career opportunities in BPO Industries” on 10.05.2022.   Mrs. Monisha Venkat, Managing Director & Mrs. G. Vijayabaskar, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Empire Services, Paramathi Road, Namakkal were the special invitees.  They elaborated various job availability in Business process outsourcing like customer centre relations, document management, human resources, social media marketing, accounts payable, etc.,    More than 100 students of final years (Both UG and PG) participated in that workshop.
