Event on “Vaikkam 100”
The Equal Opportunity Cell in association with the PostGraduate research department of Tamil, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal conducted a elocution competition entitled “Periyar & Woman’s Freedom” (பெரியாரும் பெண் விடுதலையும்) on 17th October 2023 in the College campus. In this regard, many students actively participated in that competition. All the participants spoke about that the role of Periyar for Vaikom Movement and they pointed out the sub topics like self respect, social reform, economic equality, eradication of caste, removal of caste names, women empowerment, etc.,
Ms. K. Gowri, first year B.A., Tamil, got the first prize
Ms. P. Sabitha, second year B.Sc., Mathematics, obtained the second prize
Dr. C. Gobiya & Dr. T. Geetha, Faculty of Tamil, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal were acted as “Judges” of that programme. Dr. R. A. Anitha, Coordinator of Equal Opportunity Cell and Mrs. K. Padmavathi, Coordinator, Maberum Tamil Kanavu made arrangements.
