The Institution’s Innovation Council, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal conducted an online webinar event under the title of “Kalam Program for Intellectual Property Literacy and Awareness – Discussion on patents and KAPILA scheme” on 19.05.2023.   It was held through the video conferencing of Google Meet.   

Mr. Vasantha Kumar Kulandaivelu, Advocate, Supreme Court of India,  Mr. Prashanth Wadhwa, Lead – Business and Projects Lex Alliance, New Delhi and Dr. Aditi Sharma, External Counsel/Advisor of Corporates, Government Relations and

IPR Attorney, New Delhi were the resource persons. 

Dr. M.R. Lakshiminarayanan, Principal of the College, welcomed the gathering. Er. K. Nallusamy, Secretary, Presided over the webinar. Mrs. Aruna Selvaraj, Executive Director, offered her felicitation address.  Dr. Arasuparameswaran, Director – Academic, introduced the chief guests.  

The session commenced with a brief introduction to Intellectual Property Rights.  Both the resource persons gave a deeper insight into Intellectual Property, the basic characteristics of creations and innovations needed for IPR.  They also spoke about trademarks, copyright, designs & trade secrets and events about the procedure to be followed when drafting complete specifications. 

        Dr. S. Anidha, Coordinator, the Institution’s Innovation Council proposed the vote of thanks.   This programme was arranged by the members of IIC.  More or less 100 students and faculty actively took part.
