Programme on “Vegetable Home Gardening”

Under the auspices of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Cell, Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, and Rathinasabapathi Environmental Rural Development Organisation (RERO), Namakkal, jointly conducted an event entitled “Vegetable Home Gardening Promotion for Rural Women in and around Aniyapuram Village” on December 28, 2023. It was held in the UBA-adopted village of Aniyapuram, Mohanur Taluk, Namakkal District.

Er. K. Nalllusamy, Chairman of Trinity College for Women, Namakkal, inaugurated the programme. Vegetables are essentials in our day-to-day lives. Due to the production of vegetables in our home, we get pure, fresh vegetables. Apart from that, our health is also improved and strengthened. We save our money, it is eco-friendly, and we obtain healthy food, he said.

Poojitha, Community Facilitator,  ICICI Foundation for Inclusive Growth, Aniyapuram. Namakkal, Mrs. K. Mekala, AP in Computer Science of the College,  Mr. P. Velmurugan, Secretary, Aniyapuram village; and Mr. N. Sudhakar, Ward Member (2), Aniyapuram, participated on that occasion.

This programme was held with the objective of producing vegetables for the Aniyapuram people’s homes’ empty spaces and terrace roofs. 

150 No’s of vegetable seed pockets, such as lady’s finger, pumpkin, tomato, coriander, garden bear, brinjal, bottle gourd, bitter gourd, snake guard, sabre beans, etc., were distributed to the people of Aniyapuram and its surrounding villages with the help of the ICICI Foundation for Inclusive Growth, Aniyapuram village, Namakkal.
